LaunchVic is Victoria’s startup agency. Its role is to oversee the development of the state's startup ecosystem by supporting startups and investors to sustainably grow and ultimately boost the Victorian economy. They run funding programs and events that will increase the success of Victorian founders and investors so there is a greater pool of diverse founders with big ideas and the potential for global reach along with a strong investor community.
We needed to build on this success and redefine their presence throughout Australia and international audiences as the number one destination for start-ups, entrepreneurs, and investors. One of our biggest factors to solve was surrounding the site attracting the key audiences and segmenting content appropriately to maximise retention.
First, we clearly defined their role in the community: A conduit between start-ups and investors. This involved facilitating workshops, documenting events and programs offered. Through communicating and educating the market on important roles that they are the community, and differentiating each demographic and audience from competitors in that industry.
Due to the fluidity of the community and the challenge of keeping up with such a fast-paced industry, keeping our meetings and workshops regular, and running the project using 'wagile' methodologies was key to the success of the project. Key team members and stakeholders contributed via video conferencing, emails and phone calls to keep the project moving at a fast and effective pace.
The outcome of all this data, insight and audience verticals needed to be flexible and changeable, and highlight the programs of work that are facilitated. We wanted to ensure that users felt motivated and had good reason to revisit, ensuring valuable content such as updates, and dynamic content regularly evolved to give a true ‘real-time’ barometer of the current trends. By collating content, and creating tools, and resources accessible for all users. The result was a truly unique, bespoke digital solution to the ecosystem, which focuses on audience needs and experience, clearly communicating the services offered and brand messaging.
