OVERVIEW
A new digital presence, the O’Brien Group Arena is the Southern Hemispheres Premier Ice Sports and Entertainment venue. Managed by O’Brien Group, Australasia's largest privately owned Hospitality and Leisure company Carter was engaged to design and develop a responsive website for the arena.
CHALLENGE
With a variety of audiences arriving at the site with different needs, O’Brien Group Arena and Carter Digital had a challenge to tackle. The new digital presence required structured information architecture to increase online transactions. With varying functionality, including an online interactive calendar, we were able to showcases daily activities and specific times lots. The calendar needed to be updated frequently and had to work across a responsive design to cater for the high mobile visitations.
SOLUTION
To ensure we had a perpetual cycle, the project was delivered in two phases; Implementation of a completely revised information architecture, breaking down content structure and introducing a new sitemap structure, and ux approach. Utilising a specific calls-to-action through the user interface design, we created a responsive site with a fully integrated open source CMS. The new digital presence reflects the needs and expectations of the different users and a content management system that allows the site administrators to frequently update events and daily activities.
The second phased focused on the rebrand rollout. The responsive site took on the new look and feel of the O’Brien Group Arena rebrand, with both small and more pronounced design decisions.
